Mr. Moore is a co-founder and Chief Financial Officer of MidCap Financial, where he is responsible for all finance, accounting, and treasury activities.  MidCap is a middle market-focused specialty finance firm that provides senior debt solutions to companies across all industries.  MidCap specializes in $10 million to $200 million loans and has $10.9 billion in assets under management as of 11/30/16. The company is headquartered in Bethesda, MD, with offices in Chicago, Los Angeles, New York, and Atlanta and focuses in five areas:


-Asset-Based working capital loans to manufacturing, distribution, retail, and services companies collateralized by third-party accounts receivable, inventory, and other assets;

-Leveraged loans to middle market companies backed by private equity sponsors;

-Life Sciences loans to VC-backed and public companies in product development or early commercialization;

-Real Estate loans to all core asset classes, including multifamily, office, retail, senior housing, industrial, skilled nursing, hotel, self-storage, and other income-producing properties;

-Lender Finance loans made to senior lenders in various industries secured by their underlying collateral loans.


Before co-founding MidCap in 2008, Mr. Moore created and ran for five years as Managing Director/Segment Leader, Merrill Lynch Capital Healthcare Finance’s nationally focused asset-based lending business, generating and closing 127 transactions totaling $2.11 billion in new business volume.



Prior to joining Merrill Lynch, Mr. Moore was Senior Vice President/Segment Leader at GE Capital Healthcare Financial Services, where he was responsible for managing national Core Asset-Based Lending activities.  GE’s asset-based portfolio comprised approximately $1 billion in fundings to approximately 200 clients.   Prior to this assignment, Mr. Moore managed all portfolio activities for GE Healthcare Financial Services and its predecessors, overseeing a $3.1 billion portfolio of cash flow, real estate, and asset-based loans.



Before entering the specialty finance industry in 1999, Mr. Moore spent 11 years in commercial banking with Crestar Bank, Citibank (both in Washington, DC), and First Bank and Trust of New Orleans, where he was President and CEO for three years.


Mr. Moore holds a B.S. in Management from Tulane University and an M.B.A. from Loyola University.  He is married to a fellow Tulane graduate, lives in Chevy Chase Maryland, and has three children, the oldest of whom is currently a student at Tulane.  Mr. Moore also serves on the board of directors of The Youth Leadership Foundation.
