Steven Ballard

Steven Ballard is an owner at Ballard Brands, LLC, a fast casual dining leader based in Covington, LA. Following college, Steven worked for 2 years at Northwestern Mutual where he excelled until moving to Athens to get his Master’ Degree in Education from the University of Georgia. He is also a graduate of Tulane University.
In 1998, Steven and his wife Lori moved to Raleigh-Durham, North Carolina where they inked a deal to open 17 Smoothie Kings, while at the same time opening a PJ’s Coffee in the area. Steven achieved success, being recognized for the #1 retail sales in the Smoothie King national system. After 2 years in North Carolina, Steven moved his family back to the New Orleans area to focus on expanding their Smoothie King and PJ’s Coffee Franchises, as well as to reunite with his older brother Paul and help to develop Paul’s new concept, WOW Café, which would eventually become Ballard Brands LLC in 2002.
Since that time, Steven, along with his brothers Paul and Scott, have grown Ballard Brands LLC to include a number of entrepreneurial endeavors and food & beverage concepts - in addition to WOW Cafés across the country, brands of note include PJ’s Coffee of New Orleans with 90 locations, and the Ole Saint Kitchen & Tap restaurant in New Orleans’s historic French Quarter.
Steven and Lori have three children (Sierra, Sydney, and Ethan), and still find the time to remain active in the community. Steven Ballard is a member of Leadership St. Tammany, was on the United Way – St. Tammany Parish board for 5 years, is a member of both the Krewe of Olympia and Krewe of Bacchus, is proudly a member of the First Baptist Church of Covington, and continues to support a number of charities throughout the area.
