Living in New Orleans
New Orleans is the cultural capital of the South, known throughout the world for its music, food and entertainment. But it’s also 300+ year old port city with both international business connections and home-grown startups. Living here will expose you to new experiences from learning about sustainability at sea level to dancing at local festivals. Many of our students and alumni are involved in local organizations including the New Orleans Business Alliance and the Young Leadership Council.

Live music is the life-blood of New Orleans, the birthplace of eight separate genres of music from jazz to bounce. With festivals nearly every weekend, you’ll celebrate Mardi Gras, Jazz Fest, local entrepreneurship and so much more.

New Orleans is a mecca for foodies because of the many cuisines that converged here, including French, Italian, Haitian and Vietnamese. Soon you will be peeling crawfish like a pro and ordering your po-boy “dressed.”

As a major port and commercial center, New Orleans is home to a vibrant business community. Primary industries include shipping, energy, healthcare and hospitality, but the city is also home to successful software and IT companies.
