When will doors open at Devlin Fieldhouse?
Doors open one hour before the ceremony start time.
Will the ceremonies be livestreamed? How do I watch it?
Yes, the undergraduate and graduate Freeman School of Business diploma ceremonies will be livestreamed and available on this page and also the main commencement webpage.
Will additional parking be available?
For ceremonies in the Avron B. Fogelman Arena in the Devlin Fieldhouse on Friday, May 17, guests may park on campus in the Diboll Garage, Claiborne Lot, on neighboring streets as well as in the Loyola parking garage on Freret St. NOPD will be closing Freret St. to traffic on Friday, but all guests will have access to the Loyola parking garage. Guests planning to park in the Loyola parking garage should let the officer know they're attending Tulane graduation, and they will be allowed through. RTA buses will also be allowed through Freret St. on Friday.
*Those guests with ADA needs may be dropped off closer to Avron B. Fogelman Arena in the Devlin Fieldhouse. Please alert the NOPD officer on Freret St. to allow access.
What to Expect
Wristbands
Wristbands will be required for all graduating students to participate in both Freeman Commencement and Unified Commencement.
- Wristbands will be distributed at Freeman for all graduating students one hour before the designated ceremony time. All students should enter by Starbucks (Opening Bell) for check in and wristband distribution and then move to their assigned robing room within the business school. All Freeman entrances will be locked except the entrance by Starbucks.
- Graduates must bring either a Splash card ID or government-issued ID to receive a wristband.
- Wristbands are required to be worn at all times for graduating students at both Freeman Commencement on May 17 and Unified Commencement on May 18.
Security Measures
A clear bag policy is in effect for all school diploma ceremonies and Unified Commencement. Specific bag types allowed:
- Clear totes or bags no larger than 12" x 12" x 6".
- Small, non-clear clutch bags no larger than 4.5" x 6.5".
- Plastic, resealable storage bags no larger than one (1) gallon.
- Diaper bags (12" x 12" x 6") approved with child present.
Prohibited bags include, but are not limited to, non-clear garment bags (clear plastic garment bags, such as those distributed at the dry cleaner, are permitted); briefcases; duffel bags; laptop bags; purses; backpacks (solid); fanny packs; mesh bags; patterned plastic bags; camera cases; hard or soft coolers; oversized totes; and reusable grocery bags.
Prohibited items (including flags, banners, alcohol, etc.) are not permitted at commencement events. You can view a complete list of prohibited items online.
