Freeman School of Business Graduate & Undergraduate Diploma Ceremony

Graduate Arrival/Check-in: 11:30am 

Guest Doors open: 12:00pm

All students must have a Splash card or government issued ID to check in for graduation at the Caesar’s Superdome.

What to Expect

Security

The University's Clear Bag Policy will be in effect for all school diploma ceremonies and Unified ceremony. Approved bags are as follows: 

  • Clear totes or bags no larger than 12" x 12" x 6". 
  • Small, non-clear clutch bags no larger than 4.5" x 6.5". 
  • Plastic, resealable storage bags no larger than one (1) gallon.

Prohibited items inside the ceremony are as follows:

The following items are not allowed into any commencement-related event or student line-up areas and will be confiscated: flags, banners, signs of any size or type; alcohol; artificial noisemakers (including drums, thunder sticks, or other instruments); any type of bag not permitted by the Clear Bag Policy; contraband; containers of any kind; bottles and cans; coolers; fireworks; flammables; footballs or throwing objects; glass; laser pointers; outside food and beverages; projectiles; stadium seatback chairs with aluminum/metal; stickers; sticks; bats; poles; clubs; strollers (collapsible umbrella strollers that fit under guest’s seat are permitted); weapons (even with concealed weapons permit); drones; or any other item(s) deemed unacceptable by stadium security and Tulane University. 

  • Handheld umbrellas, including graduating students' second line umbrellas, are permitted and will be inspected upon arrival.

Accessibility

Tulane University is committed to hosting inclusive and accessible events, ensuring all individuals, including those with disabilities, can fully participate.

  • Accessible parking is available at Garage H and Level 1 of Garage 1A on a first-come, first-served basis. Additional accessible parking is located on the East and West sides of Sugar Bowl Drive. 
  • Rideshare services/guests can drop off anyone needing assistance at Gate A Ground on Sugar Bowl Drive, parallel to Poydras Street.
    • Caesar’s Superdome and event staff will be there to assist. Wheelchairs are available upon request to transport guests to their seats. Wheelchair bays and low-mobility seating areas are distributed throughout the Caesar’s Superdome.
  • ASL interpreting services will be available. Guests requiring these services should notify a volunteer at the event. A link will also be provided to access the interpreter.

Commencement FAQs

Will there be separate commencement ceremonies for undergraduates and graduate students at the Freeman School of Business this year?

No, there will be one combined ceremony for Freeman undergraduate and graduate students. This change allows us to celebrate all graduates together in a single, memorable event! Additional ceremony details and abbreviated run of show will be shared with students closer to the ceremony date.

Are tickets required to attend the Freeman School of Business diploma ceremony?

No, tickets are not required. Family, friends, and supporters are encouraged to attend! Seating will be available on a first-come, first-served basis.

Which entrance should guests use for the Freeman School of Business diploma ceremony?

Guests should enter through Gates A, B, & C plaza level.

Will there be a place for graduates to change into their regalia at the ceremony venue?

No. We ask that all graduates arrive robed and fully dressed in their regalia, as there will be no designated dressing areas at the Caesar’s Superdome.

When will Latin Honor cords be distributed for undergraduate students?

Latin Honor cords will be distributed at the Caesar’s Superdome during check-in for undergraduate students.

Will the ceremonies be livestreamed? How do I watch it?

Yes, the Freeman School of Business diploma ceremony will be livestreamed and available on this page and the main commencement webpage.

How long will the Freeman School of Business diploma ceremony last?

We anticipate the diploma ceremony to last approximately 2 hours. It will be a memorable event and we’re excited to celebrate this milestone with you! If you have restaurant reservations after the ceremony, we recommend allowing an additional 30 minutes for egress from the venue.
