Biography
Hamid Vahidnia is interested in questions and phenomena at the intersection of entrepreneurship, strategy, international business and organization theory. Presently, he is working on two streams of research. First, he is studying institutional, corporate and entrepreneurial mechanisms at work that may play a role in reducing vibrancy of entrepreneurship and in the fostering of inequality of entrepreneurial opportunity and resources in many developed and developing countries across the globe. Second, he is working on a research program that helps to identify and explain the cognitive, behavioral and contextual mechanisms that may facilitate the creation of new value by individuals, teams, and existing or emerging organizations in different contexts. Vahidina holds a BS from Khajeh Nasir Toosi University of Technology (Tehran) and an MBA and a PhD from Texas Tech University. His professional experience includes working in several national-level projects in management consulting and information technology and working in multiple entrepreneurial businesses in the United States, including a number of new ventures in Silicon Valley. His teaching interests include entrepreneurship and new value creation, management of new ventures, change and innovation processes, strategic management, and corporate and cooperative strategy. Vahidina has taught previously at Texas Tech University (Rawls College of Business) and Georgia State University (Robinson College of Business).
