Biography

Huaizhong Chen received her Ph.D. in Management from John Chambers College of Business and Economics, West Virginia University in 2019. Her research has been published in the Journal of Applied Psychology, Human Relations, Human Performance, and European Journal of Work and Organizational Psychology. Her co-authored article "Is political behavior a viable coping strategy to organizational politics? Unveiling the underlying resource dynamics" is featured in the 2nd Edition of Organizational Behavior textbook published by SAGE (2019). Huaizhong has been invited to be an ad-hoc reviewer for the Journal of Applied Psychology, Human Relations, Journal of Business Venturing, Applied Psychology: An International Review, etc. 

Huaizhong has delivered a diverse range of courses, including Negotiations, Leadership, Organizational Behavior, and Survey of Management. She was selected as the Business School's representative mentor for the university-wide teaching training session in 2018. She received the Classroom Enhancement Grant by the Center for Engaged Learning & Teaching (CELT) in 2020 and 2023, and the Undergraduate Activities Fund (UAF) in 2020 and 2021. She was the recipient of  the Freeman School's Excellence in Intellectual Contribution Award a in 2023. 

Prior to her academic pursuits in the United States, Huaizhong had consulting experience in the fields of Management and Entrepreneurship in Singapore and China (Shanghai). She is a certified user of the Hogan Assessment System and Leadership Versatility Index. The consulting projects she worked on involve executive-level talent management and leadership development for the Fortune 500 corporations, such as PepsiCo and Prudential Financial. Huaizhong also worked as a data analyst for Executive Education Programs at the National University of Singapore (NUS) Business School, including the Asia-Pacific executive program and Singapore Airlines Engineering Company.
