Biography
Allyson Joy Heumann joined the Freeman School in 2026 as a Professor of Practice in Management Science. She previously served as a Professor of Practice in the Strategy, Leadership, and Analytics Minor at Tulane’s School of Liberal Arts, where she taught courses in data analytics, the ethics of AI and entrepreneurship. Prior to that, she served as an Instructor of Finance at the University of Louisiana at Monroe. She began her career as an Equity Options and Index Equity Options Market Maker at Susquehanna Investment Group and is the founder of Allyson Heumann & Associates (AH&A), a global boutique consulting firm. Heumann holds a BA in Economics and an MBA in Finance from Tulane University as well as a Master of Accountancy from the University of Scranton. From 2008 to 2015, she published the Heumann Market Review, a financial markets literacy website aimed at demystifying capital markets for retail investors, and from 2012 to 2019, she served on the Steering Committee for the Professional Risk Management International Association. She previously held memberships at the Chicago Board Options Exchange, the Chicago Mercantile Exchange, and the New York Mercantile Exchange.
