At Tulane, our joint Master of Management in Energy (MME) and Master of Business Administration (MBA) program gives you the strategic insight, business foundation, and energy expertise you need to thrive and lead in a fast-growing industry rich in opportunity. You’ll combine technical and immersive coursework in critical subjects while gaining a business education focused on leadership.

MBA Admissions

The Freeman Experience
Freeman provides opportunities to consult with a startup, dive deep into the energy industry, connect with peers at institutions around the world or continue your education with a non-degree program. This along with signature classes, project-based courses and exceptional facilities allows Freeman to emphasize action learning by giving students the hands-on experience that they will use on the first day of their career and throughout their professional lives.
MBA/MME Curriculum
Build both the business and energy experience to hit the ground running.
At Tulane, our 78-credit-hour Master of Management in Energy and Master of Business Administration dual degree starts with your core business courses. From there, your dual degree program allows you to specialize your business training in areas such as analytics, finance, strategy and marketing; and, energy and sustainability—all the while gaining core knowledge and know-how in energy-related topics.
Throughout your dual degree program, you’ll take 48 hours of business classes in business statistics, economics, finance, management and more. From there, you’ll choose one of our four specializations to tailor your learning to your interests and passions.
After your first year in the MBA program, you’ll take energy courses in topics such as energy and environmental economics, energy modeling, energy risk management and more. You’ll also take five elective courses in topics such as energy investment banking, energy regulation, renewables and electric power market and more.
Both your MBA and MME courses involve countless opportunities to put your training into action. Whether it’s touring wind farms or oil refineries, learning the ins and outs of the William M. Templeton Trading Center, taking part in a semester-long practicum and capstone projects with various companies, you’ll build the skills you need to succeed in the energy industry.
