Professor Carver has spent his 20+ year finance career in equity and debt research, focused primarily on energy companies at Heikkinen Energy Advisors, Capital One, and Tudor Pickering Holt.
For the last decade he has been the Director of Reseach at Heikkinen Energy Advisors and Capital One.
Most recently his focus has been on the Energy Transition and Renewable Energy stocks. Prior to that, he was a lead E&P and Integrated Oil and Gas analyst.

- Executive Director, Tulane Energy Institute
Pierre Conner is the Executive Director of the Tulane Energy Institute, which oversees energy-related academic programs for careers in the energy industry and related banking, consulting, financial, technology and trading firms.
Conner brings nearly 40 years of experience in energy operations and finance to the Freeman School. Prior to joining Freeman, he was the President of Capital One Securities, an energy equity boutique investment banking subsidiary of Capital One Financial Corporation. Early in his career, he joined Southcoast Capital as an energy analyst and rose through the organization to Head of Equity Sales Research and Trading, researching and analyzing hundreds of energy companies along the way and guiding the organization through multiple acquisitions and expanding capital markets services.
Prior to his move to capital markets, Conner was engineering manager for Exxon’s Domestic Drilling Organization. He was engaged in operations from the Gulf of Mexico to offshore California to the North Slope of Alaska, and he worked on the Exxon Mobil merger.
Conner is also a Professor of Practice in Management Science. He teaches Energy Markets, Economics and Policy to undergraduates and Energy Projects to graduate students in the Master of Management in Energy program.

John S. Foreman III is the CEO for the oilfield and industrial service companies owned by Black Cliffs Partners (BCP), a boutique private equity firm headquartered in Salt Lake City. He joined BCP in 2021 to lead mergers and acquisitions and company strategy while serving as Chief Operating Officer.
Prior to BCP, Mr. Foreman served approximately 15 years with PetroQuest Energy, a publicly traded, independent exploration and production company headquartered in Lafayette, LA. Mr. Foreman was the Oil and Gas Marketing Manager and served in engineering, operational and financial roles.
Prior to joining PetroQuest, Mr. Foreman served approximately 6 years with the Dow Chemical Company where he attained the level of Senior Reliability Engineer and Six Sigma Black Belt.
Mr. Foreman joined the Energy Institute at Tulane University's Freeman School of Business in 2012.

Josh Herlands has deep experience in renewable energy finance and investing. He currently serves as Managing Partner at Rosemawr Sustainable Infrastructure Management, the arm of Rosemawr Management that invests in renewable energy and sustainable infrastructure. Prior to joining Rosemawr, Herlands founded Stillwaters Management, an investment firm focused on sustainable infrastructure and real estate. Previously, Herlands had led the infrastructure and renewable energy investment team at ORIX USA, a subsidiary of ORIX Corp (NYSE: IX), as well as worked at at Captona Partners, a boutique investment firm focused on renewable energy, and in the Power and Project Finance group at Lehman Brothers.
Herlands graduated from Stanford University with a B.A. and M.A. in International Policy, and he holds a JD from Harvard Law School.

Pierre Moses is the President of 127 Energy, a boutique development and project finance shop helping commercial clients achieve renewable energy goals. Pierre has worked in clean energy finance and project development for 15 years and his project expertise includes public and private portfolios of distributed generation assets and solar plus storage microgrids.
Prior to 127 Energy, he was a Senior Associate at IronOak Energy, a transaction and advisory firm helping infrastructure investors source, underwrite, and execute solar PV and energy storage investment opportunities. Early in his career, he was the founder and director of Make It Right Solar, a for-profit subsidiary of Brad Pitt’s Make It Right Foundation where they structured and completed more than 250 solar PV projects, of which 130 were certified LEED Platinum.
Pierre holds a BS from the College of Charleston and an MBA from Tulane University’s A.B. Freeman School of Business where he is an adjunct lecturer and board member of the Tulane Energy Institute. He lives with his wife and two daughters in New Orleans.

As Associate Director of the Tulane Energy Institute, Eric Smith draws on 36 years of experience in the petrochemical industry and in the international offshore drilling and construction sectors.
A respected authority on energy-related issues, he responds to local and national media on energy-related questions, providing market analysis and economic research on a variety of issues affecting the energy sector, and he presents his research nationally and internationally. In addition, he teaches in the Master of Management in Energy program and in the energy specialization for undergraduate students.
He is the Energy Committee chairman for the World Trade Center of New Orleans and has served as a consultant to Louisiana’s Department of Economic Development and to Greater New Orleans, Inc. In addition, he has served on the city’s energy advisory board to assist with improving the efficiency of electric power generation and distribution.
