Biography
McKenna Bailey comes to Freeman School from the University of Michigan, where she earned her PhD in business administration. She teaches auditing and intermediate accounting at Freeman. Her research examines how structural and regulatory frameworks shape human capital outcomes and firm-level transparency, with a particular emphasis on the accounting profession. She is currently exploring how emerging trends, including artificial intelligence and private equity, are reshaping workforce disclosures and accounting practice. Her work has been published in Management Science. Prior to pursuing her doctoral studies, Bailey spent three years in public accounting with Ernst & Young, serving clients in the media and entertainment industry. She holds a master's degree in accounting and a bachelor's degree in business administration from the University of Michigan and is a licensed CPA in California.
