One-Year MBA / Curriculum

The Freeman School’s full-time, accelerated one-year MBA program provides professionals and students completing a professional degree the opportunity to earn a premier graduate business degree in only three semesters. In order to be prepared for the rigorous academic demands of the program, students should have significant academic or business experience in quantitative subjects. Students will have some flexibility scheduling their classes during the day or evening.

This program is appropriate for rising professionals or practicing physicians who would like to develop their business acumen, or for students completing medical or law school who would like to add the MBA when they have completed their professional degree.

The accelerated MBA requires 54 credit hours, but eligible candidates may be able to waive up to 12 credit hours based on their education or professional experience. The program starts in June with an intensive summer semester followed by traditional fall and spring semesters. 36 credit hours are required courses, as follows:

The remaining 18 credit hours may be selected from a wide range of approved electives. Students may choose to pursue a concentration or specialization in one of seven fields. While no concentration or specialization is required, these options let students create a program to customize their education and support specific career interests. Sample elective courses include:
