Interim Associate Dean for Undergraduate Education

In addition to serving as Interim Associate Dean for Undergraduate Education, Megan Guy is on the faculty of the Freeman School and is a Professor of Practice in Legal Studies in Business. In her capacity as Interim Dean, she monitors the quality of the Freeman undergraduate experience and reviews students’ academic progress.

Doug Blanchard is responsible for assuring that the Office of Undergraduate Education, Study Abroad and International Exchange effectively and efficiently contribute to achieving the business school's mission, goals and strategies. The Assistant Dean is responsible for undergraduate student academic advising/registration, degree progress and completion, and the communication and marketing strategies necessary to achieve the objectives and goals of the unit.
Academic Counselors
BSM Academic Counselors assist students with selecting a major, understanding degree requirements and monitoring progress toward graduation. In addition, each declared business student must also meet with their counselor in the Academic Advising Center to ensure appropriate progress toward their degree. Make an advising appointment.

Charlotte Battiest joined the Office of Undergraduate Education in fall 2019 as the senior academic counselor. She has been with the university since 2007, previously with the Academic Services Center for Student-Athletes. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in English and a Master of Educational Administration from the University of New Orleans. She has 20 years of experience in higher education. She enjoys serving and providing quality advising services to all students! She advises Legal Studies majors and Altman Scholars.

Megan St. Pierre is the academic counselor for marketing students. Prior to joining Tulane and the Freeman School, Megan was a secondary education teacher for 13 years teaching social studies, English and special education. She holds a bachelor’s degree in secondary education and a master’s degree in education administration, both from the University of Holy Cross in New Orleans, and a Master of Science in human resource education from Louisiana State University.

She is originally from Texas and earned a bachelor’s degree in journalism from Texas Christian University. She has worked in higher education for the past five years in various roles including admissions and recruitment, enrollment management and graduate education.

Shallene Joseph joined the Tulane University community in July 2020. She holds a Bachelor of Science in sport management from the University of New Orleans, a Master of Education in higher education leadership from Florida Atlantic University and a Master of Science in counseling from Southeastern Louisiana University. She brings a wealth of knowledge to her role as an academic counselor at the Freeman School, including 14 years of advising diverse student populations at Florida Atlantic University, Southeastern Louisiana University and Louisiana State University. She advises Finance majors with last names beginning with A-K.

A Senior Program Coordinator, Mary Hicks has worked in international education for over 20 years. She holds an M.Ed. in higher education administration from the University of New Orleans and a B.A. in sociology from the University of Louisiana - Lafayette. She lived and worked in Japan shortly after her undergraduate career, and since then has led short-term study abroad programs in Japan and the Czech Republic, as well as advised exchange students going to and coming from countries around the world.
