Describe an innovative moment in your career trajectory.

My most innovative moment was coming up with the idea for Search Fund Accelerator. It was a major innovation in the tiny world of search funds and SFA’s performance has so far exceeded our expectations. The emergence of SFA as a force in our market has led to at least four me-toos and caused others to rethink their strategies. And in addition to creating a valuable investment fund concept, I’ve never had this much fun in my life.

What is one piece of advice you wish someone had given you early in your career?

I wish someone had impressed upon me the value of networking. It is something I learned on my own in only the past few years. As you develop in your career, you need to build a network of people you know and who you can turn to for advice and introductions. The sooner you start, the more valuable your network will be!

What is your favorite thing about working with Tulane student entrepreneurs?

It is truly delightful and incredibly rewarding to work with the high caliber students at Tulane by helping them bridge the gap between the theoretical world of the classroom and the practical everyday world of business.
